About the CCRC Team

There are 24 members of staff working at the Cancer Care Research Centre. We have 17 researchers, 7 support staff and 3 secondees in total. See the individual staff pages for further details. Read more about our Secondment Programme here.

A multi-disciplinary team

Our staff come from a range of different backgrounds. Some are from a nursing background, others have backgrounds in health psychology, social science, I.T. and information management.

Steering Group

Our steering group meets every few months at the CCRC office. They direct the strategic work of the CCRC and play an important role in future developments. CCRC ensures that the research we carry out is focussed on the needs of people who have been affected by cancer. The group is therefore made up of people who have had cancer, or who have had experience of cancer, as a carer, family member or friend and health professionals working in the area of cancer.

Members of the Steering Group are:

  • Sir Kenneth Calman
  • Dr Neil Campbell
  • Dr David Dunlop
  • Alan Gow
  • Gill Hubbard
  • Jeff Hurst
  • Nora Kearney
  • Fiona MacKenzie
  • Dr John Rogers
  • Veronica Ross
  • Derek Stewart (Co-Chair)
  • Pennie Taylor
  • Heather Tierney-Moore

All members of the Steering Group can be contacted by email via the CCRC.
